E-mail
The most frequent message on e-mail is a warning from the IT department that the system is going to be out of action for the rest of the day. This is incredibly irritating as it forces everyone to resort to primitive methods of communication, such as talking to each other.
E-mail was supposed to give us the paperless office, but someone forgot to explain this to bosses who still arrange for their secretaries to print out all their messages and leave them in their in-tray. They then dictate a reply and get their secretary to send a reply on e-mail just to show that they are coping with the technology. Remember, this is the same man gave the 'Future is Technology' speech at the annual conference. Some E-mail systems pop up messages in the middle of your screen. Let's be honest, when you're finalising the figures for next years budget, it's important that you know immediately that Esther in accounts can't find her blue coat.
Did you know that worklifehome sells a range of laser and inket lables for identifying all kinds of media, including CD, audio, video and Zip disks?
